- 1 vanilla bean (split and scraped) or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 black tea bag or 1 teaspoon loose-leaf black tea (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sugar, honey, or sweetener of choice
- 1 star anise (optional)
