  • 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 5 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream (room temperature)
  • 8 ounces Guinness beef broth
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 and 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar (sifted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously spray a 10-inch Bundt pan with nonstick baking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream room-temperature unsalted butter with sugars until fluffy. Gradually add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in sour cream and Guinness beef broth until fully incorporated.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and vegetable oil to the wet mixture until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared Bundt pan and smooth out the top. Bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow cooling in the pan for 15–20 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
