  • 0.25 cups blackberry puree
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blackberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round baking pans with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, sift together flour, both cocoa powders, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in vanilla extract and oils, followed by the blackberry puree and buttermilk until combined.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until smooth.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
