  • 6–8 crispy fried chicken tenders
  • 3 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles (plus some brine)
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onion
  • 4 hoagie rolls (soft sesame preferred)
  • 4 tablespoons butter (for toasting rolls)
  • 1 1/4 cups mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons creamy horseradish
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Alabama white BBQ sauce by whisking together all ingredients in a bowl until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  2. Warm crispy chicken tenders in an oven or air fryer until hot.
  3. Toast hoagie rolls in butter on a skillet until golden brown.
  4. On a cutting board, chop together romaine lettuce, dill pickles, red onion, and warm chicken tenders.
  5. Drizzle half of the BBQ sauce over the chopped mixture and fold gently to combine.
  6. Stuff each toasted hoagie roll with the mixture and drizzle more BBQ sauce if desired.
  7. Serve immediately while warm.
