  • 1 packet active dry yeast (about 2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • 1 cup warm whole milk (about 105-115°F)
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted, divided)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour
  • ¼ cup softened unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water and 2 tablespoons of sugar with the yeast; let sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together warmed milk, melted butter, remaining sugar, salt, and egg.
  3. Mix activated yeast into the wet ingredients.
  4. Gradually add bread flour to form a dough; knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Allow dough to rise in a greased bowl for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Shape dough into balls and place in a greased baking dish; let rise again for another 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. While baking, prepare cinnamon honey butter by mixing all topping ingredients together.
