  • 1 medium white onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 80ml apple vinegar
  • 500g tomato passata
  • 240ml beef stock
  • Fresh basil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 200g spaghetti
  • 6 crusty white rolls
  • 100g butter
  • 200g mozzarella, shredded
  • 30g parmesan for butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté diced onion until golden, then add minced garlic.
  2. Brown the ground beef in the pan for added flavor, then stir in tomato puree.
  3. Pour in apple vinegar, let it reduce slightly, then add tomato passata and beef stock along with herbs. Simmer for about 25 minutes until thickened.
  4. Hollow out the rolls and brush with melted butter mixed with garlic paste and parsley.
  5. Cook spaghetti until al dente, then combine directly into the sauce.
  6. Fill the bread bowls with pasta and top with shredded mozzarella.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes until golden.
