  • 1 cup salted butter (2 sticks, softened)
  • 1 and 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat softened butter until smooth. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar; mix until fluffy.
  3. Incorporate eggs and vanilla, blending until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Use a cookie scoop to shape the dough into 1.5-inch balls and roll in a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Place dough balls on prepared baking sheets with space in between and bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are set.
  7. Allow cookies to cool briefly before transferring them to a wire rack.
