  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened for frosting
  • 2 oz brick-style cream cheese, softened for frosting
  • 12 cups powdered sugar, sifted for frosting
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt for frosting
  • 12 teaspoons whipping cream for frosting, if needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, beat together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Mix in the egg, egg yolk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until well combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined.
