  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced green bell pepper and onion in olive oil for about 5 minutes until softened.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until combined.
  4. Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of a loaf pan. Layer with 4 slices of provolone cheese and the sautéed veggies. Top with the remaining meat mixture.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes. In the last 5 minutes, add remaining cheese on top until melted.
  6. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
