  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags or 4 tsp loose leaf tea
  • 1 large orange (juiced and zested)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • Optional: honey or sugar for sweetening
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • Orange slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan. While waiting, zest the orange to obtain about one teaspoon of zest.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add tea bags, cinnamon sticks, orange zest, and optional star anises. Cover and steep for 5-8 minutes.
  3. Juice the orange while the tea steeps. After steeping, remove tea bags and strain solids; mix in freshly squeezed juice and sweetener if desired.
  4. Allow tea to cool to room temperature before refrigerating until chilled.
  5. Serve over ice with fresh orange slices or cinnamon sticks as garnish.
