Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 ½ cups granulated sugar (divided)
  • 4 large eggs (room temperature)
  • Zest and juice from 4 oranges (divided)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¾ cup vanilla yogurt (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two loaf pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixer, cream together softened butter and 2 cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in orange zest.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix orange juice, yogurt, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in three parts, mixing gently until combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared loaf pans and bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. While baking, create a syrup by dissolving remaining sugar in orange juice over low heat. Drizzle over cooled loaves before glazing.
  7. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with orange juice until smooth and pour over cooled bread.
