  • 3 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for glaze)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream or whole milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in sour cream, lemon zest, and juice.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth top. Bake for about 65 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For glaze: Heat sugar, butter, and lemon juice until melted; stir in powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Cool cake in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Drizzle warm glaze over the cake.
