Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 12 tablespoons milk (as needed)
  • Roasted chopped pecans (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add pure maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. Gradually fold into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, portion out dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set but centers remain soft. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  7. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and maple syrup; adjust consistency with milk as needed. Dip cooled cookies into the glaze and sprinkle with chopped pecans if desired.
