Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glazing)
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (for glazing)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add maple syrup, egg, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Scoop dough into balls (about 1½ inches each) and place on prepared baking sheets, flattening slightly for even baking.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden but centers are still soft. Allow cooling on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  6. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with maple syrup and milk to achieve drizzle consistency. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
