Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz smoked sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooked rice or quinoa, for serving
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using) for the sauce.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook sliced sausage for about 4-5 minutes until browned; remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, cook shrimp seasoned with salt and pepper for about 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque; set aside with sausage.
  4. Sauté broccoli in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp; add a splash of water if necessary.
  5. Return sausage and shrimp to the skillet, pour sauce over everything, and stir well to coat. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve over rice or quinoa and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
