  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, freshly grated
  • Pinch of cloves
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in cold butter until resembling coarse crumbs.
  2. In another bowl, mix milk, egg yolks, and vanilla extract. Gradually combine with dry ingredients until just mixed; form into a ball and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. For the filling, mix pumpkin puree with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until smooth.
  4. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness; cut into circles. Place filling on each circle, fold over and seal edges.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake pasties for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Prepare glaze by whisking powdered sugar with milk and vanilla; drizzle over warm pasties before serving.
