  • 1 baguette (demi)
  • ½ cup basil pesto
  • 12 ounces cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • red pepper flakes
  • fresh basil
  • balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Fill silicone skull molds with fresh mozzarella pearls and bake for 6-7 minutes until melted.
  3. Press down gently on the melted cheese to shape into skulls; let cool completely.
  4. Increase oven temperature to 475°F. Halve cherry tomatoes, place cut side down on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, season, and roast for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Slice baguette into ½-inch pieces and toast in the oven for 8-10 minutes until golden.
  6. Mix basil pesto with gel food coloring until you achieve a spooky black hue.
  7. Spread black pesto over toasted bread and return to the oven for another 8-10 minutes.
  8. Top each slice with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls; drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
