  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter or ghee
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream or coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken: In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, spices, and salt. Coat chicken well and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook chicken: Heat oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add marinated chicken and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. Prepare sauce: In the same pan, sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and ginger; cook until fragrant. Stir in spices and cook for another minute.
  4. Add tomatoes: Mix in tomato paste and crushed tomatoes; simmer until thickened.
  5. Finish sauce: Stir in heavy cream (or coconut milk) and sugar if using. Return chicken to the pan; let simmer for about 10 minutes.
