  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Line three large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Divide dough into six portions (about half a cup each) and shape into mounds. Space mounds on baking sheets at least six inches apart.

  7. Allow to cool on baking sheets for about fifteen minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
