  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry or instant yeast
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk warm milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Add remaining sugar, melted butter, eggs, salt, and one cup flour. Mix on medium speed.
  3. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms; knead for about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface; spread filling ingredients evenly.
  6. Roll tightly into a log and slice into twelve pieces; place cut-side up in a greased dish.
  7. Cover again and let rise for another hour before baking at 350°F (177°C) for 25-28 minutes.
  8. Drizzle with icing made from warmed cream, confectioners’ sugar, espresso powder, and vanilla extract before serving.
