  • 1/2 pint fresh blackberries (about 1 cup)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or alternative sweetener)
  • 8 bags Earl Grey tea (or 4 tablespoons loose-leaf tea)
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half (or dairy alternative)
  • 5 cups water
  • 5 cups ice

Instructions

  1. Boil 5 cups of water in a kettle.
  2. Crush the blackberries in a large bowl with the sugar until jam-like.
  3. Pour boiling water over the blackberry mixture and add the tea bags. Steep for about 5 minutes.
  4. Fill a large pitcher with ice and strain the tea mixture over it.
  5. Stir in half-and-half or dairy alternative and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
