Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup blackberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar for berries
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the blackberry swirl by cooking blackberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened. Set aside to cool.
  2. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  3. Melt butter and chocolate together until smooth. Let cool slightly before whisking in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, and salt; fold into the wet mixture until just combined. Spread into the prepared pan.
  5. For the cheesecake swirl, mix cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Drop spoonfuls onto brownie batter for swirling.
  6. Spoon cooled blackberry sauce over the cheesecake layer and swirl using a knife or skewer.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until edges puff slightly but center is still slightly jiggly. Cool completely before slicing.
