  • 1 packet wonton wrappers (about 2530 sheets)
  • 400 g / 1 lbs beef mince (ideally fatty mince)
  • ½ cup scallion/spring onion (finely chopped, about 3 bulbs)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ tbsp fresh ginger (minced)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice apple vinegar
  • ½ tsp dark brown sugar
  • â…› tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp rice apple vinegar (for serving)

  • 1 tsp dark brown sugar (for serving)
  • ¼ tsp ginger (for serving, minced or thin matchsticks)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, finely chopped scallions, minced garlic, and fresh ginger until well combined.
  2. Add soy sauce, rice apple vinegar, dark brown sugar, sesame oil, sea salt, and white pepper to the meat mixture; stir thoroughly.
  3. Place about one teaspoon of filling onto each wonton wrapper. Moisten edges with water and fold over to seal tightly.
  4. Cook wontons by either steaming or pan-frying until golden brown; for soup, drop into simmering broth until done.
