  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 8oz block cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 3.4oz box instant banana pudding
  • 1/3 cup dairy milk of any kind
  • 1 small banana, peeled and chopped small
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups vanilla wafers, broken into pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together brown sugar, granulated sugar, and melted butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Spread the brownie batter into the prepared pan evenly. Bake for 25 minutes or until set.
  5. While baking, prepare the banana pudding layer by beating room temperature cream cheese until smooth. Mix in instant banana pudding and milk until thickened. Fold in chopped bananas.
  6. Once brownies are baked and cooled slightly, spread the pudding layer evenly over the brownies. Top with broken vanilla wafers.
  7. Bake for an additional 10 minutes to set the pudding layer.
