  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  3. Gently fold in the shredded Swiss cheese and chopped mushrooms.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased loaf pan and shape it evenly.
  5. Mix ketchup and brown sugar for the topping; spread it evenly on top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
