  • ¼ ounce instant or active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (105°F)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast. Whisk gently to ensure even distribution.
  2. Gradually pour in warm water while stirring with a wooden spoon until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let it rise at room temperature for 2 to 10 hours.
  4. Lightly flour your work surface and turn out the risen dough using wet hands. Fold edges toward the center to shape.
  5. Place the shaped loaf on parchment paper and cover again for an additional 20-30 minutes of resting time.
  6. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) with a baking stone or Dutch oven inside to create steam.
  7. Score the top of the loaf with a sharp knife and carefully place it in the oven.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown; it should sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Remove from the oven and cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
